Job Description: Community Manager
SUMMARY
CyberSafe Foundation is seeking to employ a curious, creative, relatable, enthusiastic and savvy person to manage the offline and social communities for our #NOGOFALLMAGA campaigns. This person will design programs and activities to keep all our pockets of volunteer communities engaged and informed. They will also manage and develop content, helping to reinforce a strong brand voice and nurture relationships within the community. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about advancing cyber security and safety, and has prior experience managing a community and creating content – both written and visual. This person will help level up our suite of social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and explore new ways to engage audiences via features like IGTV, FB Live, and Stories. This person will also build an engaging content calendar that heightens our social presence and creates concrete value for the campaign we are running. This is a full-time contract-to-hire role reporting to our Communications Strategist.
Responsibilities
• Designs and coordinates programmes for the involvement of new volunteers, which will include orientation and other activities aimed at affirming our volunteers’ competence to successfully complete tasks.
• Drives and manages cohorts within the groups.
• Works with the management and volunteering teams to understand, shape and implement a cross-collaborative communications strategy.
• Works with our web development team to ensure our website is the go-to source for Cyber Security Information.
• Works closely with the social media team to develop calendars for each month.
• Creates befitting content and posts them across our social media handles at least once a day.
• Interacts regularly with social communities, spurring conversation as well as answering questions to increase public engagement with the campaign.
• Designs programs to mark key global technology celebrations and holidays
• Spots opportunities to engage in relevant social conversations and build relationships real-time.
• Identifies creators/channels for collaboration (licensing, sponsorships, etc), and facilitates grants applications process.
• Facilitates stakeholder engagement and communicates key milestones and deadlines to ensure seamless execution.
• Designs templates that will streamline your workflow and create a cohesive look for our feeds.
• Creates blog content and publicises articles.
• Develops top-line reports on the campaign’s social media performance monthly.
Requirements
• You have a knack for making social media sing and you’re constantly on the lookout for content that pushes the boundaries of the medium.
• You are able to translate cutting-edge ideas into content that performs, helping our social channels become powerful organic mindset drivers.
• You have impeccable writing skills that you’re able to leverage for daily engagement on our social media channels.
• Your track record is replete with social content that has increased audience engagement, driven revenue, and built brand equity.
• You are excited to achieve a deep understanding of the #NOGOFALLMAGA mission and to help us drive our campaign with a consistent approach to messaging and visuals.
• You have experience handling multiple projects, nailing deadlines and reacting swiftly to shifting priorities.
• You are an outgoing, warm personality who accepts feedback, iterates on a dime, and can articulate your vision clearly.
• You work hard and give attention to details. • You are a team player with an aptitude for problem solving.
Minimum Qualifications
• 0-3 years of social media experience at a consumer product company or agency or working on a campaign as this.
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend social media metrics and their impact on businesses and brands.
• Experience using social media management tools (such as Planoly, Sprout Social, Hootsuite).
• Exceptional writing skills.
Skills that set you apart
• Art direction experience in graphic design, illustration, videography, and/or photography.
• Superior journalistic judgement, including research and fact-checking expertise.
