A WhatsApp message masquerading as an offer from Adidas has been making the rounds on the app. The message says “Adidas women’s day gift: Adidas gives away 1 million pairs of shoes” with a link to click to receive the offer.

The link “https://adidas-es.buzz/adidass/tb.php?_t=1615134709″ has the word “Adidas” in the URL to make it look legitimate and trick the less observant.

As we have always advised, do not click a link, except you specifically requested it or you are expecting it. If you are in doubt, use a link scanning service like virus total. Scanning on virus total flagged it as a phishing link.

Finally, always be on the lookout for scams during important days commemorating certain events (like women’s day, children’s day, etc) or public holidays. Scammers will always use such a pretext to launch their nefarious activities to hoodwink the unsuspecting.
