Recently we received a report about a PDF document purportedly from the United Nations Sustainable Development Group. This document listed various vacancies and was making the rounds on WhatsApp. A quick look at the document revealed that it had similar job vacancies as another previous scam (United Nations Commission for Industrial and Economic Development UNCIED).
Another similarity was just like uncied.org, there was nothing on the un-sdg.org domain. Also, the actual domain for The United Nations Sustainable Development Group (UNSDG) is unsdg.un.org and not un-sdg.org, this act of registering a domain that looks similar to the real one is a common ploy used by scammers.
We advise that you treat any purported communication from the UN that concerns Job openings with extreme caution. Never send your CV or documents in response to such but first go to the UN website and check if such job vacancies exist. Finally, note that legitimate recruitments will never ask you for money or sensitive information (e.g. bank account) at any stage of the recruitment process.
